Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (born 10 January, 1986) is an English catwalk model and lingerie model, and television personality. She finished second in Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2) in 2006 and won series eleven of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013. Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second oldest one of her four siblings: Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She grew up in Woolton, an area in Liverpool, and attended St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy was a part of the girl group Genie Queen. They were directed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was one of thirteen finalist for the Living TV's Britain's Next Top Model's second cycle in 2006. She competed over ten weeks for a modeling contract. Clancy along with fellow contestant Lianna fowler were able to make it to the the final runway show, and they were eventually crowned the runner-up. Clancy was featured in Britain's Next Top Model and has since modelled for several publications and newspapers. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike on the May 2007 cover of Arena magazine. Clancy was chosen to appear in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 swimsuit edition. Clancy was chosen due to her relationship to Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed by the magazine wearing only bodypaint to appear as if she were wearing an England shirt. Yu Tsai took the photographs. Clancy was featured in Umbro's 2010 campaign. She wore the England shirt and was accompanied by women from the winning teams. Clancy walked in the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear line Giles Spring 2011 collection.In March 2011 Clancy appeared on the Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, she was part of London designer Hasan Hejazi’s campaign. It included a fashion editorial from Absynth Photographic as well as a fashion movie by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. In December 2013, Clancy was featured in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar alongside Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, British Elle. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October of 2019 with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand, to introduce their AW'19 collection. The AW19 collection was launched by Lipsy in Abu Dhabi in January of 2020.
